Welcome!

Welcome to NanoFate.us! This website is dedicated to the anime series Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Our purpose is to serve as a community for the fans of this series to have a good time together and to share translations of manga, doujin, novels or news. Registered users are able to access our chat, upload images to our public galleries and make posts or comments in the forums.

Translations: Our internal translation group is currently inactive, but we like to help the community by serving as a repository and sharing all the NanoFate related doujin that get translated to English by other people. If you know about a doujin that we're missing, please contact us.

Raws: You can download the scans from our users or share your own raws (scanned by yourself or that you got from some other site) in this thread (all ages), or this thread (nsfw content). Translated doujins are here.

About the past, the present and the future

A.'s picture

Hello everyone! Did you know that the first version of our site was a WordPress blog made in 2008, and that it's still online today? That was a pretty long time ago indeed, you can visit it here if you're curious, it's a pretty small blog, some images no longer load and download links don't work anymore, but that's to be expected after 13 years. Back then we had a translation group that at a time even reached a double-digits number of members and scanlated a good amount of all the NanoFate doujins that were released in English, if not most, and a fun fact is that our first releases started just as the combined effort of a couple of people on a 4chan thread on the /u/ board.

Not trying to sound old, but back then the times were different, online communities formed in forums, and sites to host them were needed, sites like the Dynasty Reader where you can today find almost all of our releases were much smaller and reliable, it was normal for people to download doujins and read them in their computers, but right now you can read almost everything online, social media sites and other bigger sites are the home for online communities while at the same time smaller sites dedicated to specific interests like ours have become less practical, less useful and less relevant by every passing year.

And that's the main reason for this post, after so many years I think we may have reached the tipping point. The combinations of factors such as the Nanoha franchise not having anything new of substance for a couple of years, the English Nanoha community being equally dormant or people moving away to other stuff and in general the fact that we get very few new fan (or official) content to share or discuss, I think make a website such as ours unneeded. This may be obvious, but right now our team basically only has one person left, after our scanlation group with its last couple of members went inactive and we only had me left to take care of the website I always had the goal to keep it running for as long as Nanoha fans have a need for it.

Our future:
I've had great times and got to know great people through my years here, I'm very grateful about that and about everything that we contributed in the past, but all must come to an end. Nothing is set in stone yet but at the moment I'm thinking about keeping the site running until the last week of December (unless something totally unexpected like a new animated season and a resurgence of demand for the site happens, but I don't see either happening), if everything goes as expected the site should be inaccessibly permanently after this year, but that's not as bad as it sounds, in today's Internet thanks to the magic of NanoFate's love (and web archiving to a lesser degree) you will always be able to visit a snapshot of our site through the Wayback Machine (someone told me you can even access the old version of a certain novel there that we had to remove from our forum, that one we always get requests for), the download links for scanlations hosted in nanofate.us won't work through that page but you can always read everything posted here online somewhere else... or I wish you could, because the fact is that a few of the releases posted in our site, specially from the last few years don't seem to be posted anywhere else, so they may get lost forever when we go offline, and that includes some doujins from what I consider great authors.

I'm not sure what to do with the domain once I give away our hosting, I'm not sure if I can just make it redirect to the Nanoha x Fate tag on Dynasty or some other page, I don't know if that's something that can be easily done, if someone has any ideas feedback is welcome.

And that's all for now, as I said before nothing is set in stone yet, but at the moment what I said seems like the most likely scenario. Please take care and stay well.

HIKARI ~side:F~ Zenpen

Admin's picture

It's always great to wake up to new NanoFate, but it's even better when we get a new Ameiro doujin and when it's translated by a different translation group. Today we are sharing HIKARI ~side:F~ Zenpen, the first Nanoha doujin from Ameiro, and got translated two days late of its eleventh birthday by WindyFall & /yuri/ Scanlations. We hope you like it!

SPOONFUL 2.5 & SPOONFUL 2.5 Plus Ecchi [+18]

Admin's picture

And we are back with not one but two new Started The Breaker releases: SPOONFUL 2.5 and SPOONFUL 2.5 Plus Ecchi by SEA STAR. These doujins from 2010 are 19 and 12 pages long, and despite their name they are not a direct sequel to SPOONFUL or SPOONFUL 2, that I would like to mention were two of the first doujins translated by our old translation group, so these new releases hold a good nostalgic value here. We hope you like them!

By the way, if you're interesting in helping editing new Engish escanlations or proofreading new doujins, please check this thread and either send a message to saizohhh or leave a comment.

Moving to a new server!

A.'s picture

As some of you may know, our 10-years-old server broke last week and our site went completely offline for a few days.

We moved our backup to a much newer server and are now in the process of trying to make the site work again, this may still take some days and at the moment we can't guarantee that all the functionality of the site will be back since our old CMS wasn't made to support these newer technologies, but at least all the doujins are still available for download and all the posts and comments are here.

Also at the moment of writing this the site can't load images anymore, I don't have an excuse for that but I'll try to have that working as soon as possible.

EDIT: One day later it seems like everything should be back to normal, including the chat that for some reason fixed itself. The site seems to be faster now, if you notice any errors please leave a comment here.

EDIT 2: Registration of new users should work but I suspect the registration mail will go straight to your spam folder. If you have any problems registering just send us a mail. Also it would be nice if any new users could confirm if our mail effectively got tagged as spam or if you got it into your inbox.

Started The Breaker is back with a fourth release: Master by Endori. This is an old 26 pages long doujin from 2008 that sort of serves as an epilogue for StrikerS before the Vivid was a thing. We hope you like it!

Proofreader recruitment!

A.'s picture

Hello everyone! This short post is to announce that Started The Breaker, responsible for the latest 3 release in our site, is looking for a proofreader for future NanoFate/Nanoha doujins. It's preferable if you're a native English speaker or otherwise someone that speaks English at a high level. The job of a proofreader is basically to edit the translation script so every line sounds natural and the grammar and orthography are correct, experience is not necessary.

If you think this is something you would like to do you can choose if you want to work or not in a specific doujin, there's a relatively big list of doujins that can potentially be translated to English so I'm sure there's something for everyone.

If you are interested please check this thread and either send a message to saizohhh or leave a comment, otherwise if you don't have an account in this site you can send a mail to admin from the Contact page.
