I would think is cute if they didn't the same every single time someone new arrives "Oh, we are totally normal, except that of course we aren't!" Gets repetitive

Oh well, the Takamachis are a nice little family. Even I am not as bitter as to deny it

Also... who are they talking with?

There is a handful of new people they train with in the space China arc, the one that is getting translated now.

Chapters 80 and 81 are out in English, marking the end of the Space China arc and the start of the current arc in which Vivio will get to fight Nanoha in an exhibition match. Fun chapters.

It's good to see Vivio wanting to increase her charm, but beating her Fate-mama is an unrealistic goal. Still, if she tries hard maybe she can keep Einhart from getting stolen away by you-know-who.

I guess it is cute, nothing more needs to be said... Bah, you know what? Fuck it, I am not going to just stay silent about this

Memory 80 actually addresses something that has been bothering me ever since the first chapter: Vivio’s apparent lack of talent for hand to hand fight (Which goes on the “tell don’t show” school of poor writing) and her reason to keep going at it regardless. Chinese grandpa speaks with Vivio about it and mentions she could just use a weapon and make it easier.

Vivio refuses however on the ground that she wants to fulfill Nove’s dream of entering a competition (which she can’t because she is a cyborg) and becoming a good counter... also she wants to beat Nanoha and Fate because... I have no idea. I mean it, is like she thinks Nanoha and Fate wanted to make her strong enough to beat them. Chinese old man then says those are valid reasons and then... well, you can see if for yourself.

This is officially when I realize why and how ViVid lost me. On top of the insipid characters, the uninspired “plot” and the blandness of everyone’s relationship... it has the balls to try and sell that to me as a good story. To try and make me think Vivio’s irrelevant and crafted struggle to become a martial artist holds against the pains and suffering Fate, Hayate and the Wolkenritter endure. It isn’t, it will never be and I hate this manga.

TheRon just released the complete Volume 1 of Vivid Life in English:

This is a set of funny side stories that take place during the two month timeskip between the mock battle and the first tournament.

Most chapters from this first volume were already translated before, but it's nice to have the complete thing in one place now.

Now, surprisingly enough I actually like these ones. Is actually quite good, fun and entertaining. Just having the girls experience the trials of living in their crazy magical world. I would like to see them try more magical things but this short things are quite nice.
