I think it was the possibility of having another powerful and evil force with the Materials, like Reinforce being controlled by the Will of Darkness.
Instead, we got a loli with no evil prospects at all, despite being the master of all evil, apparently.
The Materials were better on their own.
This is exactly my view as well.
The Materials themselves were awesome and evil, then comes some kind of misunderstood loli type to completely ruin them, couple that with suddenly Materials artwork being spammed with that girl as well and... bleh.
They were better off as ''fragments of the defense program'', that thing was actually evil so it makes sense that it's remains spawn beings like the Materials.
I like U-D just fine, she's a nice addition and her backstory is kinda amusing (a human turned into a magical construct) serves as Dearche's morality pet and balances the group somewhat, all of that coupled with the fact she's the single most powerfull character in the franchise xD! But well, i'm not big fan of the materials anyway (i think they're ok and i do find them enjoyable characters but i has never been big fan of palette swaps xDU).
And by the way Yuri is the master of all Darkness, not evil xD

Just watched it, my review... warning: may contain spoilerish comments.
2- It was awesome!
3- It was great!
4- it could do without the collective 40 seconds in which Yuuno was on screen.
5- I loved to have more Reinforce
6- yay for the Nanofateness, pity it was subtle as always.
6b- I can't help but notice that for whatever reason, whenever Fate and Nanoha are together and talking with someone from TSAB, they're in a bedroom. I'm drawing my own conclusions about that.
7- Alicia/Fate moment melted my heart.
8- no one needs Gil Graham
9- Lindy had her badass moment. Lindy is badass.
10- It was awesome!
I couldn't stop grinning like a loon the whole time. Even better than the first movie. Now I have to get it in HQ... ^^

So I also watched the Movie 2nd A's and I really liked it, well it's hard for me not to like something that is related with Nanoha and Fate :D
But, I'd hope there would be just a little bit more NanoFate.^^^^^
What do you think about all the mods they did to the story, in comparison to A's?
As for the 3rd movie : I am extremely happy and I am already excited about it's theme. I would hope for the high school years. After all we still have Nanoha's incident open and what happened. So that would fill a blank spot.
If anyhow they are going to make a StrikerS movie, I think well have to either expect lots of cuts, a harry potter like , over 3 hours moive or a very different story.

The movie was great!!! I loved all nanofate moments and the battle scenes too (^.^)

Man, that FatexAlicia dream scene hit me hard. So beautiful and poignant. Poor Fate, having to sacrifice what she always dreamed of...because it was just all a dream. The enhanced animation and the few added lines made it even better than the series version, and that was no easy task.
By the time they hugged and said their goodbyes, my vision was so blurry from the tears, I could barely see.
Well, I just finished watching the movie, and man was it long. It was so worth it though, even though it's so late for me. That was truly a great experience from start to finish. Even though this was good, I kinda dread the third movie.
the only thing that really puzzled me with the movie version is the lack of Gil Graham considering Hayate still is alone she would have no means to pay her bill if he didn't exist in the movie verse too

ah thx kiluan must have missed that still i kinda liked the oldman I mean he was obviously in the wrong but Hayate never seem to hold a grudge in the series still the movie version is better in some ways
I was re-watching the movie today (in HD!!) and I noticed a little detail which was absolutely awesome and epic and I wanted to point out to whoever might have missed it.
