While I didn't mind them as bonus eps, this is just a gripe, but ova 3 in particular felt a bit inconsistent to me what with how everyone reacted as Rinne won, was it really special enough to warrant tears? I mean they had long since established that, barring Vivio's skill as an outlier, and Fuuka, no "normal" competitor should be able to even remotely close the gap in terms of raw attack power and endurance...But they seem so happy...Really, am I missing something?

Moreover back in ova 1...

Spoiler:
Fuuka managed to break Golaith's arm too with a basic counter, despite even Einhart having to break out the heavier tier techniques just to fight the darn thing
...should I just chalk this up to taking it easy and Fuuka being trained by Einhart?

Even after Vivid, Vivid Strike, and its OVA's, I just can't help think that Rio and Corona were still the most amusing characters in each one, and really had a near criminal lack of screen time and wasted potential.

Well it was Rinne's goal to become the U-15 champion. And she had just that last tournament to do it. Lucky she manage to try again so maybe it is a big time for her.

Noted. I admittedly hadn't actually realized that Rinne wanted to become the U-15 champ, so much as prove herself strongest a la a more cynical replay of Einhart's plot in retaliation to her own fear of weakness. It just felt kind of counter intuitive since she and the posse were shedding tears of relief as though she had just accomplished her life's goal, despite basically only doing so cause she was cruising on easy mode after the higher tier bosses left stage. I guess seeing your set goal through to the end is still worth celebrating though, so thanks for the explanation.

In all honesty is not clear why Rinne wants to be the champion. It seem like that was lost somewhere along the way. But she did want that belt.

She wanted that belt more as a proof that she is not weak anymore. Which is not really healty for her but Jill totally took advantage of that.

The reference to being friendly and peaceful is significant when you consider thing through Ixy's eyes. In practically any period before this one they (Einhart, Vivio, Ixy, Sieg, possibly Vic if we believe her etc.) would be out on the battlefields destroying the lands and each other.

Yeah, but the whole thing is meaningless when you consider Rinne was not that much worry about being weak but about hating herself, so how was that belt going to help?

Also, no. I am not seeing things from Ix perspective when every time we see her she is happy, and her terrible past is told by single shots of her looking sad and we being inform she is.

Well duh, of course she is happy. Thing would need to get considerably worse for her not to be when you compare the current state of affairs to what she from her perspective experienced half a decade ago, which was back in the worst parts of the Belkan wars from her perspective.
Then again this is only my interpretation...

Umm she is a person who has suffered an incident, which kind of broke her mind and she totally is NOT thinking rationally? She believes that her not being able to answer her grandfathers phone call is what killed him so she is tablespoon for his death because she was not strong enough to stand up to the shitheads. It's totally bonkers, but that is what deep down is driving her. The need to get better or suffer punishment for her failure in the ring. Which is why she was down with the Jill's stupid overly harsh training regimen that was actually endangering her life and if Nanoha learned of it.... the only part of the Fronteer gym left standing would have been the smoking foundations.
Anyway so to her addled mind she needs to prove to herself that she is no longer weak, and right now the confirmation of that to her would be by being confirmed a champion, somebody in her mind who can not be beaten (which is also bullshit).

Since the beginning of May, I received a direct mail from Japan, "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection" drama CD since, I have no intention of "Vivid Strike," the latest out of the CD "Summer Time Vacance Songs" bought. Because this CD is scheduled for sale at the official Vivid Party Conference on the Vivid Strike in May 7th, I have no time to go back to Japan. As a matter of fact, I guess after this CD release, is it possible that someone on the Internet may provide download resources? But online search for almost a month, no one to provide the download resources in this regard, I do not know is a technical problem? Or copyright question?
Later, I decided to buy this CD, because CD contains Inori Minase and Yui Ogura two singers were sang character song "明日への風" and "Shiny Sky Memories" in anime "Vivid Strike" without these songs, estimates may be original character songs? So I decided to buy this CD and listen to what it would look like.
To the time of the purchase, Since May has come to the end of the month time, only the website in Japan this CD auction, and other shopping sites without the CD deal. And that some of this CD auction sites have already ended, the original price 1200 yen (equivalent to more than 80 Hong Kong dollars, equivalent to more than 70 yuan RMB) CD auction to 3000 yen (equivalent to HK $more than 200, equivalent to more than 180 yuan RMB) the highest price on the end.
I think CD company King Records that sells this CD, is getting too little? The CD Summer Time Vacance Songs has been sold out in seems that in less than a month. What's more, even the words "limited edition" are not marked? Not as good as limited edition of "Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha Reflection" drama CD was fired to 9000 yen for trading. After, will there ever be any CD of the same or different content?
I wonder if anyone who has bought this CD can sell this CD to us again?

I remember people on Twitter were saying this drama CD was pretty cute, but nobody uploaded it. It sounds pretty inconsequential anyways, and besides this I think there is another drama CD that never got uploaded, I don't remember if it was about Innocent or one of the PSP games.

Considering that the PSP one (at least it used the Materials and such) was translated by Nagumo of AS and put together in form of video with audio and subtitles by AtomicoX, I guess the Innocent one never received such treatment. Then again I was not aware it was a thing. Sounds to me like it might be a bit expensive to make considering what hodge podge of characters that thing is. And it might be interesting.

About this, I been posted questions on Chinese net Baidutieba.(https://tieba.baidu.com/p/5138685339)
According to some of them said, "我买了一张(English: I have already bought one)", I asked him in Chinese again, "如何证明你买了一张(English: How can you prove that you bought one?)", he said, "雅虎上2500日币拍的(English: I spend 2500 yen bought one on Yahoo Japan)".
But I haven't asked when he bought it, he talked to other people and said, "还没寄回来,到时候会在天使动漫发的(English: They haven't sent it back yet. I will be uploaded it on 天使动漫)". I think someone might uploaded it be there.

Shiny Sky Memories

About the character "Carrie Tercel (Chinese: 凯丽·特塞尔 / Japanese: キャリー・ターセル)" is a small part role of Vivid Strike! episode 03. Her character is lively and laughs. When I mentioned her before, someone told me that she was very fit to be an idol. So I think original Masaki Tsuzuki is too wasteful of Takuya Fujima's designs. In addition to only the role name, there are not many other scenarios related to her, and she still has second appearances of episode 12. Such a lovely character does not give her more than one play, I think it's a pity. Do you have any comments on this?

The following is when I watch anime, Some of the lines that have been collected.
[Evaluation]
Announcer: "From the blue corner! Affiliated with Sunny Gym, still undefeated in the Under 15 category, a striker complete with power, speed and technique, ranked number eight in the world: Competitor Carrie Tercel!"
Rio: "Competitor Carrie is a popular fighter."
Nove: "Competitor Carrie is certainly an excellent fighter, but Competitor Rinne is another thing entirely. Jill... Her coach believes that the talent one is born with determines how an athlete will turn out. I don't think she's entirely wrong, but... That way of thinking still rubs me the wrong way."
Rinne: "It didn't end up being a good fight, but thankfully I ended it without breaking you. Nice try, Number Eight."
[Comment]
Jill: "That girl (Carrie)'s also been blessed with many gifts. She has plenty of power, speed and technique. It's because of those things that she's an opponent worth fighting. So let's show them: The difference in talent."
"Yes. The haves always trample over the have-nots. An advantage that's impossible to overcome. It's simply talent."
Rinne: "It was her greeting. She greeted me. So I could tell she was a kind person."

Vivid Strike Review

Spoiler:

We went from innocent girls, to military to cute fanservice girls to MMA
Boring intro stuff
I had recently gotten back into the Nanoha series with the DVD release of Reflection (which I still haven’t watched yet) and I realised I still haven’t gotten around to Vivid Strike so I decided to get round to watching it. I didn’t watch it while it was airing because my interest was aimed elsewhere at different media and I was basically just checking in and out of the Nanofate site and news about the series was popping out and I wasn’t motivated to watch it as it seemed to be set around the Vivid series which wasn’t very interesting (I still haven’t finished the Vivid anime) and no sign of any of the cast pre Vivid besides Vivio and Nove. I finished watching the series plus the OVA and I actually loved it a lot.
Premise
This series mixes elements of the original trilogy and the newer Vivid series to find a nice middle ground between the two. It brings back presenting the opposing sides and what they are fighting for with their character motivations, bringing back stakes from the trilogy while being set a year after Vivid and its characters and focuses on the hand to hand combat for fights. It set up to building towards the fight of childhood friends which kept me wanting to get through the series to reach the climax that was going to happen no matter what. I think they tried to subvert some Nanoha tropes such as ‘defeat means friendship’ and communicating with words during fights at some points but also sticking to the Nanoha formula and knowing how events will play out at the same time. I quite liked the setting and premise a lot.

Characters
It’s set after Vivid so there are ton of characters. I never finished Vivid but you don’t need to finish it as you don’t really need to know their history and they function fine for the returning supporting cast.
Fuuka
I like Fuuka. I liked her voice, personality and her design even if it is a copy of Einhart. She was likeable, and I was rooting for her to be able to get her feelings across to Rinne. She’s motivated, works hard, can get a little ahead of herself and fun, but it was a complete shame due to the lack of focus on her throughout the middle of the series. We never got to see her progress as I think we only saw one of her tournament fights and the rest was commented on. It did expand on her training with the OVA which help, but not very much. Maybe it’s to show that she has raw talent to be a quick learner and copy styles which were performed by the other characters, but it probably a thin head cannon. But if she can learn and copy moves then she could probably take advantage of it and be really, really strong. I really liked what we got from the start and the end and I want to see more of her because she’s really cool.

Rinne
I like Rinne but not as much as I like Fuuka surprisingly. She is the ‘Fate’ of there series and with the amount of focus she got has led me to see people saying she should be the main character and like her more which I totally understand. She was given a strong backstory and extreme motivation along with her flawed ideology which was the perfect way for Fuuka to connect and break through. I personally didn’t like her as much maybe because I was terrified of her strength when seeing her fight and maybe made me root for Fuuka and co to knock some sense into her

Vivio and Einhart
Even though they were the stars of Vivid they weren’t the focus here. Einhart functions as a mentor and just kind of always just there in the background behind Fuuka as a catalyst for her. Vivio get a moment to shine with her fight and see her fight with some higher stakes than compared to the Vivid. She was a beacon of hope for a way to defeat Rinne and that it is possible.

Nove and Jill
These two of course fill the coach roles with conflicting ideologies. Jill gives serious Quattro vibes making me always on edge when she appears.

The others
I actually remembered some of the tournaments due to their feature. Of course no.8 (rip), the boyish one Fuuka fought and the giant girl who I found kinda cute stuck in my head.

I MISS YOU NANOFATE

OST and Animation
The OST was an improvement than the usual low production OST of the series. The animation was alright, nothing amazing and the show never looked ugly. I wish the fights had a bit more motion and fluidity like the one very small scene of the climax fight. Not the worst or the best I’ve seen. Sound design was also pretty damn good. I miss Nana and Yukari but I liked the OP song but the ED was meh.

Moments
Episode 1 tried to set a dark tone with the street fighting but was soon hauled.
Episode 4 showed how it was willing to be darker than Vivid and brought some shock value about Rinne.
Also Rinne breaking ribs made be very shocked and weary about the safety of my bones.
Episode 7 and 8 had be leaning forward and pausing due to the intensity of the fight.
The final fight episode also had me really invested in the battle.
And the final episode to cool down and tie everything up and provide some doki doki yuri moments between the leads.

Fights
Stand out fights were the Vivio vs Rinne and Fuuka vs Rinne fights to me. Neither had amazing animation being littered with looping frames of repeating moves. There were moments of high quality but these moments were not the best of the best but were serviceable.
Vivio vs Rinne
I was hyped for this fight I had to pause and take breathers because it was so intense with me. It tried to build on Vivio’s state and how her body got screwed over when she was befriended by Nanoha, also providing a glared out image of Nanofate during the fight. It was done to set up the contrast between the fights and coaches ideologies along with the result to give Fuuka more time to prepare for her moment. Vivio’s counter strike style was really cool even countering herself and changing her style
Fuuka vs Rinne
This fight was built up since the start and was a little lacklustre animation wise but managed to deliver the message it needed to. I thought Fuuka wasn’t going to stand a chance but used her ability to fight back. They were both fighting so hard Fuuka lost some teeth even with protection which was pretty cool. When they started fist fighting I was kinda hoping for something similar to the Naruto vs Sasuke fight with the one shot section but it didn’t happen and only had a short scene of a quick back and forth between the two which was cut short. They communicated to each other and basically everyone and the audience. In anime word without strength are meaning less and fighting with wavering and conflicting motives is futile. But seeing the two fight their hearts out for what they want is what makes Nanoha speak to you and stand out.
Through out the fights I was like ‘are they okay?’ and ‘are they dead?’ though out so I was totally into the fights.

Most importantly. Do I ship it, Fuuka x Rinne?
Yeah I do. I kind of ship Vivio x Einhart a little less as they didn’t interact together very much. I think Fuuka and Rinne are quite cute, not as cute as Nanofate of course.

Overall I liked it and am surprised Nanoha still has content to give. I don’t know if it was a commercial success and it will get another TV series, but I hope it does. I love Nanoha so much!!! Osu!

Interesting, not a point of view I share but is good that people enjoy Nanoha content... even if ViVid Strike! acts like Nanoha doesn't even exist

The first few series are a giant pot of a number of different elements which fulfil a niche and when you try to focus on different aspects you lose out on others which will cater to some and not to others which is completely understandable and completely fine which maybe be a reason why you didn't favour VS very much. Though it was a total shame that anything pre Vivid and the few elements of StrikerS were included which is probably where most of the fanbase found Nanoha and the only reason I can think of why it happened was so the show wouldn't be so exclusive.

What bothers me about Strike! is mostly the fact that it not just ignores those elements pre-ViVid. It acts like they never even happen. The complex and complicated story between Vivio and the Numbers? Not a peep. Nove's cyborg nature? If you didn't knew already nothing here would make you even guess. They even talk about criminal backgrounds and joke about Einhard's apperance when she was just picking random fights on the street and not that Nove and her sisters were terrorist (Ok, I admit that last one would be odd to share, but still... they have no issues venting Rinne and Fuka's backstory in front of dozens of witness without their permission and yet they allow themselves privacy).

Why use all of those characters with the backstory that allow us to get to this place if in the end we are just going to ignore those elements?

To me that was ViVid and ViVid Strike! biggest crimes. Even Force, retcon aside, try to bring new elements but did not ignore the past.
